In the coming years, we are building a completely new maintenance operation focused on the trains of the future – modern, high-tech vehicles that will start rolling in 2026. Do you want to be part of this from the beginning and lay the foundation for this initiative? We are now looking for someone to take on a key role as a Production Engineer and become an important part of our team.

As a production engineer at SJ, you will have a unique opportunity to be the driving force behind the development of a new maintenance operation. Your work will be varied and challenging, with a strong focus on:

  • Designing and optimizing processes, methods, and maintenance flows for our state-of-the-art workshops.
  • Ensuring that everything is in place when the new trains arrive – from equipment to maintenance principles and workflows.
  • Contributing to ensuring that production maintains the highest possible quality and efficiency.

This is your chance to combine technical skill, problem-solving, and leadership to create a world-class workplace.

Your main responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing production equipment and creating investment and cost calculations.
  • Develop production instructions and conduct risk analyses.
  • Coordinate work environment, environmental, and quality efforts, and ensure that tools and equipment are calibrated and inspected.
  • Drive improvement work and develop processes in our workshops for optimal maintenance.
  • Be the contact person for property issues and the yard, as well as manage chemical lists and risk assessments.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for a proactive, solution-oriented, and communicative person who enjoys creating and driving change.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • A degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in production engineering and a sense of structure and precision.
  • The ability to build relationships and motivate others at all levels of the organization.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, as well as experience working in Microsoft Office.

We also value qualities such as high safety awareness, business acumen, and a willingness to take responsibility for the whole.
